A under par performance from the Jaguars today saw a well prepared Waltons team run out winners by 2-1. It took the jaguars three quarters of the game to start playing and when they did they took control and bossed the game, but by then it was an uphill battle.
Walton took a first half lead through a defensive lapse as they contolled the game. Jaiquan worked hard and kept fighting and the Jaguars were fortunate to only be 1 down. A controversial 2nd goal gave Walton a 2-0 lead with 40 minutes played.
A few positional changes seemed to make all the difference and the team started playing with more confidence and purpose for the last 20 minutes, winning the midfield battles and starting to threaten on goal regularly. A well taken header from Rob Garden after Bradley delivered another great out-swinging corner made for an exciting last 5 minutes as the Jaguars pressed on goal, but in the end the clock beat them as a worn-out Harry collapsed to the ground!

This was a fantastic display from the Jags against a well organised team. The Jags never allowed Halliford much time on the ball with some excellent closing down to deny the opposition any space, coupled with some strong tackling in midfield. The Jags forward line of Ewan and Jaiquan caused all sorts of problems for the Halliford defence and combined well to put them 3 nil up. A good fight back from Halliford in the second half to score twice to make it a tense finish but the defence stood strong and held out.
A superb display up front not only rewarded Jaiquan with a hat trick, he walked off with a well deserved Man of the Match Award. The Captains Effort Award went to Harvey who produced some tough tackling in midfield to help protect the back four.
This truly was a great game and a terrific Team performance.

At last back and playing league games after playing our last league match on 8th November 2009! Well organised and playing confidently the Jaguars opened the scoring with a pearler from Bradley who looped it over the keeper with his left foot. Jaiquan followed with a very similar effort and then went on to make it 3-0 at half-time following a nice build up. Claygate started the 2nd half better, but we were still too strong and kept the pressure on. Max rounded off a good personal performance by him with a well taken side footer having beaten several players and Harry made it 5 by working the space on the left, rounding the keeper and slotting home. Hopefully the start of a good run in the league as we look to catch up matches.

With only 10 players and playing on a very big pitch with heavy conditions underfoot it was alway going to be a tough ask taking on a fellow Division 1 team from the Southampton league in the Round 4 Hampshire County Cup match. However the lads battled hard right to the end and although 3-1 down at half time they came out 2nd half and held their opponents very well with some decent counter-attacking moves.
At 1-1 we were very much in the game but then 2 soft goals where we allowed the opposition time and space to pick out shots into the top of the net meant an uphill battle from then on. Some great goal keeping by Chris who was kept busy throughout and a sterling performance by the defence kept the scoreline reasonable.
Great team work lads, well done!

With only 11 players available and only 10 fit, it was always going to be tough. We did not help ourselves with some poor play in the first half as well, allowing Farncombe lots of time and space in the attacking third to set up their goals.
Fleet did create a lot of chances and it was pleasing to see so many players shooting on goal. With 4-1 at half time we needed a good second-half and a transformed team came out and started playing to their potential, only to be denied by some good goalkeeping and the woodwork.
A well worked solitary goal scored by Jaiquan, but created and set-up by MoM Steven, who showed some good touches today.
Capatins/Coaches Effort Award went to Harry who was playing in a very unfamiliar centre-half role. He was solid, disciplined and throughly deserved his award.

So the good cup form contines! Well done lads. Very confident passing and good movement off the ball saw the Jaguars over-come strong opponents with relative ease in the end. Max opened the scoring with a very well struck right footer beating the keeper at the near post. Jaiquan's pace and strength was just too much too handle as he ran the defence ragged and hit his 2nd hat-trick in 2 weeks!! Christopher, our usual goalkeeper, made his outfield debut due to an injured figure and duly grabbed himself a goal too, which together with his all-round performance earned him the Parent's Man of the Match award.
Congratulations to Captain/Coaches Effort Award winner Callum Rose whose vision and passing range improves match-by-match and finally thanks and well done to James who agreed to step in as goalkeeper at the very last minute and managed to keep a clean sheet - only our 2nd of the season!

Very strong team performance today as the Jags at last put into practice what we have been working on so hard over the last few week - you shoot you score! Ask Ryan Babel. Lovely hat-trick by Jaiquan; maiden Jaguars goal with a stunner from 30 yards by Luke "Des Walker" Evans, great shots and goals by Ewan and Harry and season opener to break his duck by Brad. Last goal was on OG coming from a Jaiquan strike.
The lads used the width of the pitch well and the switching of play to exploit the space was great to watch. Some of the through balls - in particular a couple by James and Simsy were really something to enjoy.
Well deserved first MoM to Max "MO" Ottaway, selected and presented by the delightful current Mrs Neil (aka the trophy wife!) and a very well deserved Coaches/Captain's EA for Bradley, whom I thought did what he does well today and released the strikers so many times we had about 25 shots on goal. Had it not been for their keeper playing out of his skin it would have been double figures!!
And finally lets not forget we kept a clean sheet as well! The first of the current campaign. Chris only had one real intervention the entire match and he bravely came out and took the ball right off the strikers foot.
Great performance lads, well done!!

Not one of our best performances it must be said! We reacted well after each of the first two goals and made sure we stayed in the game. Going down 1-0, we immediately applied the sucker punch and Jaiquan bagged the equaliser. Again after going 2-1 down a well executed corner saw Harry make the most of the goal mouth scramble to step back and make it 2-1.
However, the Jaguars did not play well as a team today and it was our inability to do the basics right that was the most disappointing. Goals 3 and 4 came from poor closing down and 'spectating' which allowed Beaulieu follow up to get to the ball first and strike at goal.
Lots of lessons for the team to take out of today's performance and to work on.

Playing against unknown opposition in this round 2 Hampshire County cup game, the Jaguars put on fantastic display of football.
Right from the off the Jaguars took control of the match and never allowed their seaside opponents to settle. Staying well organised they moved the ball around the pitch confidently. Two very well worked opportunities ended with 2 own goals from desperate defending and Jaiquan making it 3-0 at half-time.
Second half same as the first with the Jaguars attacking at will and only some great goalkeeping keeping the ball out of the net and the score below double-figures. Great strike by Ewan made it 4-0; a well worked 2nd by Jaiquan and opening his scoring debut for the Jaguars Max made it 6.
Chris's only opportunity to touch the ball in the 2nd half ended in a goal for Portsmouth as the ball took a wicked 'bobble' as it bounced towards the 'keeper to leave Chris grasping at thin air.
MoM went to stand-in centre half Callum R with his flawless display and Captain/Coaches EA to Ewan for a superb performance also playing out of position as the holding mid-fielder. Special mention to Brad who had a great game today.
We are now into Round 3 of the U12 Hampshire County Cup - bring them on! Lets make sure Simsy does not take too many penalties in future :-)

Strong all-round team performance to make it a comfortable win for the Jaguars. A Brace by EA winner Harry Webster and a third by Jaiquan Buckley. MOM went to the ever solid and reliable centre half Luke Evans.

A good performance, but out-played by the better team on the day. Gutsy performance by Captain Callum Sims for the EA and a very well deserved MOM for James Neil. Great consolation goal for Harvey Stevens.
