I am currently the Age group Co-ordinator for the under 10’s, we currently have 5 squads with over 40 boys in our age group and from my understanding is a rarity at this age group.  

I also run a team within the age group – The Warriors who are in Division 7 of the SPL.

Youth football should be used as a vehicle for boys and girls to get interested in football at a young age so that when they get to the difficult teenage years they still have a strong association to the game which hopefully keep them out of trouble but also get them involved in other regular social events.

Football is a fantastic way to focus the attention and energy of young girls and boys, they get so much fun and enjoyment out of it and it requires minimum effort from coaches and parents.

All I want from teaching kids football is that they are still playing the beautiful game when they are all as old as me!
